The mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure and the residue was purified by RP-HPLC (acetonitrile 20-50%/0.05% ammonium hydroxide in water) to afford arbitrarily assigned (S)- 1 -benzyl-N-( 1 ,8-dimethyl-2,7-dioxo-2,3,4,5,7,8-hexahydro- 1H- pyrido[3,4-b]azepin-3-yl)-1H-i,2,4-triazole-3-carboxamide (22.2 mg, 78%) as a white solid. ?H NMR (400 MHz, CD3OD) 8.56 (s, 1H), 7.87 (s, 1H), 7.37 – 7.33 (m, 5H), 6.49 (s, 1H),5.46 (s, 2H), 4.71 – 4.65 (m, 1H), 3.59 (s, 3H), 3.32 (s, 3H), 2.74 – 2.68 (m, 2H), 2.45 – 2.38 (m, 1H), 2.13 – 2.08 (m, 1H).
