The most active compounds 2c, 2d, 3c, 8a, 8b, 9a, 9b, 9c and 9d showed a high selectivity index towards antimicrobial activity against K. pneumoniae and MRSA1 compared to mammalian cells, suggesting a good safety profile.

The analysis of FTIR spectra showed the presence of benzenoid and quinonoid moiety in almost equal proportion. UV-Vis spectroscopy revealed high oscillator strength for the synthesized copolymer. The study of fluorescence spectra revealed that the quantum yield was dependent on the monomer composition in the copolymer. XRD and TEM studies revealed structural modifications in the morphology of the polymers on copolymerization while thermal studies suggested graft copolymerization. The half-lives of four cyproconazole stereoisomers were different ranging from 95 to 187 min, and (2S, 3R)-cyproconazole preferentially metabolized in rat liver microsomes. In addition, the results from metabolism kinetic study indicated that rat liver microsomes showed the stronger potency to deplete (2S, 3R)-cyproconazole than the others. Then, homology modeling and molecular docking results revealed that the docking energy between (2S, 3R)-cyproconazole and the cytochrome P450 CYP3A1 (-7.46 kcal.mol(-1) ) was higher than the others, meaning that (2S, 3R)-cyproconazole exhibited the strongest binding ability to this enzyme. Moreover, two main metabolites of cyproconazole coming from hydroxylation and dehydration were observed, and possible metabolic reactions of cyproconazole in rat liver microsomes were identified through using an LCQ ion trap mass spectrometer. This kind of systematic metabolic investigation of cyproconazole at chiral level would provide valuable information for ecological and human health risk assessment of chiral pesticides. In the European Union (EU), regulation of sterol demethylation inhibiting (DMI) fungicides is tightened due to their suspected endocrine disrupting properties. In this study, mefentrifluconazole and other triazoles were examined for activity to select pathogens sensitive or resistant to DMIs using mycelial growth tests on fungicide-treated culture medium or spray trials using cucumber plants. Cross-resistance was confirmed for all of the fungal species tested but activity levels varied. The sensitivity of Monilinia fructicola from peach to mefentrifluconazole was higher compared to other DMIs. In contrast, the inhibitory activity of mefentrifluconazole was equal or slightly inferior compared to difenoconazole, tebuconazole, propiconazole in Colletotrichum spp., Alternaria alternaria sp. complex and Cercospora beticola isolated from peach and sugar beet, respectively. Similar tendencies (i.e. equal or slightly inferior activity and cross-resistance) were observed for cucumber powdery mildew (Podosphaera xanthii) resistant to triflumizole, myclobutanil, and difenoconazole. Despite cross-resistance to other DMIs, mefentrifluconazole is a promising fungicide for fungal disease control on peach and other crops, with a reportedly more favorable toxicity profile.

In this research, graphene oxide (GO) functionalized with 3-amino-1, 2, 4-triazole-5 thiol (ATT) [fGO] has been synthesized for the achievement of a high protection performance of epoxy coatings with enhanced mechanical properties. A novel combination of fGO/epoxy composite coating will be a promising application for the corrosion protection of steel. The corrosion protection evaluation of fGO-grafted epoxy composite coatings on mild steel is investigated using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM). EIS revealed high film resistance, charge transfer resistance and low capacitance for the fGO-grafted epoxy-coated mild steel. SECM analysis showed less current distribution (0.5-2.5 I/nA) at the scratched surface of fGO-grafted composite coatings compared to neat epoxy coatings (2-10 I/nA) on mild steel. The presence of sulfur and nitrogen atoms in the fGO facilitates the enhanced corrosion protection performance of epoxy-fGO-coated mild steel. Mechanical properties of the coatings were also found to be improved in the presence of modified GO particles as evidenced by hardness test and pull-out adhesion test.

It is a multi-functional cyclization reaction to form two new heterocycles. The structures of newly formed compounds were confirmed by using spectral and analytical studies. Simple reaction conditions, the good isolated yield of the product, and no column chromatographic purification are attractive features of the present protocol. Further, the newly synthesized compounds were screened for anti-microbial activity and molecular docking interactions.
