The crude product was purified by chromatography over silica gel (eluent: CH2Cl2/heptane 1:1 to CH2Cl2/AcOEt 1:1) to afford the pure compound in 47% yield as an orange powder: mp 58 C; 1H NMR (CDCl3, 300 MHz) 7.42-7.49 (m, 1H), 7.51-7.58 (m, 2H), 7.74-7.78 (m, 2H), 7.88 (br s, 1H), 8.03 (d, 1H, J = 0.9 Hz).
