A new cluster-based three-dimensional 2p-3d-4f heterometallic framework {[Ho8Na(OH)6Cu16I2(CPT)24](NO3)9(H2O)6(MeCN)18}n (1, HCPT = 4-(4-carboxyphenyl)-1,2,4-triazole) has been prepared under solvothermal condition by using a custom-designed bifunctional organic ligand. The single-crystal structure anal. reveals that this framework features novel Ln8Na and Cu8I clusters as nodes, these nodes are further connected by the CPT ligands to give rise to a (6,14)-connected network. The magnetic property of this framework has also been investigated.
